"DIGITAL QUARTER CENTURY - REPORT"
Der Titel ist Programm, denn 2013 ist ein besonderes Jahr. STATION ROSE/Elisa Rose & Gary Danner - Pioneers of Digital Culture - haben das 25-jährige "Digital Quarter Century“ erreicht. Das Zählen in Dekaden ist überholt, nun zählt die Century-Einheit. Vor einem Viertel-Jahrhundert haben Elisa Rose (bildende Künstlerin) & Gary Danner (Musiker, Komponist) im 4.Bezirk in Wien die Station Rose als erste digitale öffentliche Adresse Wiens 1988 gegründet. Es folgte ein langer Aufenthalt in Kairo, dann das Exil 1991 in Frankfurt und San Francisco, gleichzeitig ging Station Rose online, veröffentlichte u.a. bei Sony Music, arbeitete bereits ab 1995 an einer Vorversion von Facebook, hatte ab 2002 vier Jahre lang eine eigene Sendung bei ARDdigital und performte mehrere 100 Mal live in Museen, Clubs und auf Festivals. Seit 2012 leben & arbeiten Rose & Danner wieder in Wien. Über die wichtigsten Stationen ihres Werdeganges wird Station Rose in Wort, Sound & Bild sprechen.
Station Rose/STR was founded in Vienna, Austria, in 1988 by Gary Danner (sound) & Elisa Rose (visuals), after they had finished their studies at the University of Applied Art in Vienna. As one of the first digital groups worldwide Station Rose have used the potential of live audio visual media and the internet for performing in their work. Their Gunafa Clubbings were the first AV- and online-clubprojects worldwide (Frankfurt 1992). STR are regarded as pioneers of media art. They had a professorship for media-production at University of Applied Sciences Darmstadt,.Station Rose audio visual performances have been performed at (selection):

In 2012 they opened their contemporary artspace at Museumsquartier, and received the City of Linz Lifetime Award for their artistic work.They showed "Digital Quarter Century - ShelTeR" at this year´s Ars Electronica, and will present "Digital Quarter Century - Patterns & Pleats" at Museumsquartier/Ovalhalle in November.
